1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how OORO, developed by Lin Xuan, handles information in the OORO iOS app and on this support website. It reflects the behavior of the current app code.

The short version

OORO has no account system, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs. Most information is stored on your device or, when enabled, synced through your private iCloud account.

2. Data OORO handles

Tasks, schedules, checklists, and completion records

OORO stores task titles, schedules, completion history, checklist items, colors, icons, and related settings so the app can provide reminders and show your progress. This data is stored in the app’s SwiftData database. When iCloud is available, supported records sync through CloudKit in your private iCloud account.

Photo check-ins

When you take a check-in photo, OORO can keep an app copy of the image and save an original to your Photos library. The app may store the Photos library asset identifier so it can locate that original later. App copies participate in the same private iCloud sync as other supported app records when CloudKit is available.

Storage cleanup only targets Photos library originals for which OORO has verified a valid app copy. iOS presents a system confirmation before deletion. OORO cannot delete Photos library items without your approval.

Location, motion, and home Wi-Fi

Departure alerts use Core Location to set a home area and detect when you leave. The home coordinates, alert radius, and optional Wi-Fi network name are stored locally on your device. Motion activity may be used to recognize a drive-away sooner. OORO does not create, store, or upload a continuous movement history.

Location and motion are processed to provide the feature you enable. They are not used for advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking.

Notifications and widget data

OORO schedules reminders with Apple’s notification system. Notification permission and delivery status are read to show feature health. The Home Screen widget receives a limited snapshot of today’s task titles, icons, colors, and completion counts through an Apple App Group shared with the main app.

Support diagnostics

OORO can prepare a technical support report containing app and iOS versions, device model, permission booleans, startup health, and sanitized app logs. The report intentionally omits home coordinates, Wi-Fi names, photos, task titles, notification bodies, absolute file paths, and movement history. Nothing is sent to OORO automatically; the report leaves your device only when you choose to copy, share, or email it.

Support emails

If you contact support, OORO receives the email address and information you choose to include. Email is processed through the email providers used by you and by OORO. Please do not send photos, coordinates, medical details, or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.

3. Apple services and third parties

OORO uses Apple platform services including iCloud/CloudKit, Photos, Core Location, Motion, Notifications, and App Groups. Apple may process information under its own terms and privacy policy when those services are used.

The current OORO app code does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not sell personal information.

4. Your privacy choices

  • Enable or disable Camera, Photos, Location, Motion, and Notification access at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Use OORO without departure alerts if you do not want to grant background location access.
  • Control iCloud access and storage through your Apple ID and iCloud settings.
  • Delete tasks in OORO; associated check-in records are deleted with the task from the app database.
  • Decide whether to share a support report or send a support email.

5. Retention and deletion

App data remains on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your private iCloud account until you delete the related content, remove the app data, or manage it through Apple’s iCloud controls. Photos library originals remain in Photos until you delete them or approve OORO’s storage cleanup.

Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support history, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of a support conversation by emailing the address below.

6. Security

OORO relies on Apple’s device security, app sandboxing, Photos permissions, App Groups, and private CloudKit infrastructure. No security measure is perfect, but OORO minimizes data handling and does not operate a separate developer account or analytics server for the app.

7. This support website

This website does not use an account system, advertising, analytics scripts, or marketing cookies. Its hosting provider may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser type, and security logs, to deliver and protect the site.

8. Policy changes

If OORO’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated. The latest revision date appears at the top of this page.
